A pedestrian accident was reported as having taken place at
approximately 7:30 in the evening on December 24, 2009. The
victim, a sixty-four year old woman, was pushing a shopping
cart on her way to shops near the senior housing complex
where she lived. The area where she was walking was a dark
roadway. According to the report evidence suggests that
several vehicles had earlier swerved in order to avoid her.
The driver of the car that hit her is a seventy-six year old
man. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital but
died just a few hours later. The police are investigating
the accident and no information is currently available as to
whether the driver will be charged.
