In this case, the report indicated that a young woman tried
to get a drunk driver to slow down as he sped through her
neighborhood on a Sunday evening. The driver was well known
for speeding through the neighborhood. On this evening,
the woman went out to the street to tell him to slow down.
A witness indicated that the driver ran over the woman,
stopped his vehicle, and asked if he had run into a garbage
can. After realizing he had actually hit and killed the
young woman, he left the scene. The police tracked him
down and arrested him.
